Great enthusiastic turnout in St. Augustine! The Peace Fairy arrived at the same time George Bush arrived equipped with his cowboy boots and pistols...the Peace Fairy was victorious! We banged on pots and pans in memory of Molly Ivins. The giant Peace Dove appeared to float in the breezes of the Atlantic. The march was 3 blocks long and was lead by the drummers along the Bay and down busy touristy St. George Street.. shocking and reminding the public that their country is at war and has been occupying Iraq for 4 years! The best part of the protest was that , 96 yr. old Peg Mcintire, the "matriarch" of the peace movement in St. Augustine, left her rehab room at the hospital to protest this immoral war on Iraq. It was a great peace day.
