The Messiah appears to be a nice chap, and to many certainly a relief after Bush. The problem I have with him, which goes back to his campaign days, is his lack of specifics. (Hmmm, could that be by plan?)
.
Certainly messing with Pakistan -- a nuclear power already at odds with its nuclear neighbor India -- is dangerous business. It appears what is programmed here is to undermine the Pakistani government -- and you could ask anyone except me why in the world would we ever wish to aggravate their nuclear trigger finger. But then again, should we have a war with Pakistan, can you imagine how many billions of dollars would flow into the weapons and security interests! And hey, Support-Our-Troops redux!
.
Perhaps we've replaced the head of government treachery, but not the corpus. Giving him the benefit of doubt, it may take the Messiah a bit of time to separate the wheat from the chaff (or the good guys from the monsters and greed servers) that Bushco planted, but I must say that I am not enthusiastic about some of his cabinet choices thus far. And it will indeed -- despite the relief and the enthusiasm -- take even longer for the electorate to nurture a healthy disrespect for a greed and war mongering government, the flag waving, the troop-supporting, and similar treachery-supporting bullshit.
.
Then there were those of us who knew all along and still suspect much amiss, and we're great at complaining, walking the sidewalk with a sign and such, but we've never committed to the discomfort and risks it would take to change anything, and the only cooperative efforts of any size that we've managed are the now institutionalized peace orgs whose objectives are primarily confined to justifying their own continued existence. Hey, were would they be if peace actually broke out?
.
So it looks like we're now stuck and being asked to support "change" and "hope" and the notion that something good might just happen -- and then we attack Pakistan?! Every day and when I wake from sleep at night, I ask myself: Why can decent people not get together and stop this madness? I would certainly appreciate you or anyone else to help me answer this question.
.
......With it all, best regards, Rafe
