(This was originally written in November of 2007 but still seems to be very relevant).

In September of 2000, The Project For The New American Century, a neocon "think" tank composed of such draft-dodging visionaries as Rumsfeld, Cheney, Rove and Libby, concluded that only "a new Pearl Harbor" would convince Americans of the need to invade Iraq.

The events of 9/11, still unsatisfactorily explained, shrouded in secrecy and covered up, provided the impetus for the construction of the most deceptive, costly, convoluted web of lies ever spun around gullible American minds.

Corporate media and blind patriots alike drooled over the invasion and occupation of a sovereign nation unconnected with 9/11, making us far less safe.

Today, troop deaths and injuries, vet suicides, desertions, war profiteering, torture, civil liberty subversion, our depleted uranium irradiation of Iraqi children, and contractor perpetrated Iraqi civilian murders continue to escalate.

Today, war industry CEO’s and neocon politicians conspire to amass blood-drenched profits through world domination, indifferent to human suffering, selling us their Perpetual War.

Today, in our oily, one-party corporatocracy, invertebrate Democrats shrug their Constitutional obligation to impeach war criminals, permitting Bu$hCorp to plot its next illegal, catastrophic aggression.

Imagine if the resources wasted over the last six years had instead been channeled into promoting peaceful, environmentally and economically sound solutions.

Too busy, apathetic or disheartened to act, we’ve allowed the hijacking of our once-great nation by cretins who can’t get enough.

Happy holidaze, America. We celebrate the genocide of our indigenous peoples and the birth of an alleged prophet who absolved us from caring about this life by gorging on heavily drugged, severely abused birds

Sinking ever deeper into our gluttonous national nap, we can take comfort in that our great-grandchildren won’t be around to despise us.
